I haven’t looked at Flock for a long time, so I thought it was time I did. If you’ve not heard about Flock before, it’s a social web browser, which means that it’s designed to integrate with all the social networking services such as Facebook, MySpace, bebo, Twitter, Digg and all the in-crowd. But it also supports your webmail (well, Google, AOL and Yahoo, anyway), has an integrated blog editor that will even support self-hosted blogs (like this one), and even adds Facebook Chat into its own status bar. Found this totally by accident while prepping an open source tool you’ll be seeing here soon(ish).

It’s a download page for all Yahoo! products (well, the downloadable ones, anyway). Quite cool if you ask me – why don’t they make more of this?

I’ve been thinking about the abortive Microsoft-Yahoo! deal last night in bed, and what came to me has been crystallising in my head ever since.

Basically, Microsoft‘s plan is, and always has been, to provide as much of the software for as many of the computers in the world as they can. Doesn’t sound too worrying when you say it like that, does it? (more…)
