Useful resources
It’s always nice, when using a new operating system in a virtual machine, to have some apps to look at in it. So I thought I’d compile a list of some, where to get them, and the usual suspects: OpenOffice.org, Firefox, Thunderbird and Opera. Here, then, after a quick scan through my bookmarks is all that I can find. Use and enjoy.
- BeOS / ZETA / Haiku : BeBits Opera 3.62
- FreeBSD : OpenOffice.org Mozilla 1.5b
- Inferno
- FreeDOS / OpenDOS / DR-DOS($) : Garbo Interesting DOS programs
- OS/2 / eComStation ($) : IBM support Firefox 2.0.0.11 Thunderbird 2.0.0.9 Opera 5.12
- Plan 9 : Aki Nyrhinen Geoff Collyer
- ReactOS
- QNX : QNXZone Opera 6.01 / 5.2.1
- Solaris : Sun Freeware OpenOffice.org Firefox 2.0.0.11 Opera: Sparc x86
- Windows 3.1 : gaby.de Winsite Netscape
NB: in the above table, “n/a” means “not available” (to the best of my knowledge, that is). No guarantees of completeness, etc. Happy virtualising and/or emulating!
